Skype: this is free communication software by Microsoft that will let you bring free virtual field trips, virtual guest speakers and global connections with other classrooms to your school. I recommend that you register with Skype in the Classroom to find other teachers to conduct Mystery Skype and also find guest speakers from different topics.
ePals: started as a online pen pal tool for classrooms and now it has developed in a collaborative space for teachers. Once you register your can search for other teachers within your subject and grade level to collaborate in projects within a safe online platform for your students.
Edmodo: a social network design for schools that will allow you to share links, videos, documents, notes and many more with your students. You can also give students assignments and assessments in Edmodo. Also, a great Professional Learning Network tool to collaborate with other teachers and possibly create some great collaborative projects between classrooms.
ThingLink: great Web 2.0 tool that lets you create interactive images for your projects and presentations in the classroom. Your students will find this web tool easy to use and very engaging.
